IS Mind & Body Fitness A GYM?

We are not a traditional gym; what we are is a (neighborhood) personal training studio. Our studios are methodically created to give you the exclusivity and privacy you enjoy, so you can work out in a  non-intimidating environment. This way, it allows you to focus more on your individual goals and less on who might be watching. 

 

WHAT'S A PERSONAL TRAINING STUDIO?

A personal training studio is a speciality fitness facility that's sole focus is to provide clients with the ability to train with a certified fitness specialist, in a smaller and non-intimidating exercising space than the more common, standard gyms. We're all about the personal interaction with our studio clients.

 

WHAT DOES A PERSONAL TRAINER DO, EXACTLY?

Short Answer: Personal trainers design safe and effective fitness programs. They instruct and assist people in reaching personal health and fitness goals.

Longer (But Better) Answer: You can expect personal trainers to educate & motivate their clients, as well as discuss specific needs & assess the health/fitness goals unique to each individual.  A personal trainer will measure your body composition, check your weight + vitals, and give strength and endurance tests.

They will also establish short-term and long-term goals custom to the particular intentions of each client. And what are goals without the plan of action? You can count on your personal trainer to establish the most-effective steps to ensure your success. When it comes to fitness, your PT won't just tell you how to exercise or what to do in your workouts; they'll take the time to show you the proper techniques required to maximize results and reduce potential injury. 

Personal trainers will also give nutritional education and assistance to their clients; guiding them into more health-effective choices when eating out, shopping at the store or taking lunch breaks at work. WHY IS PERSONAL TRAINING MORE EFFECTIVE THAN JUST GOING TO THE GYM?

Unlike the more traditional gyms that tend to focus on classes and group goals, personal training consists of tailor-made sessions designed to target your unique, individual goals. Trainers know your capabilities and quickly identify the most effective way to achieve your fitness objectives. 

 

WHY IS A PERSONAL TRAINING STUDIO BETTER THAN A GYM?

Glad you asked! First off, let me start by saying: there's nothing inherently "wrong" with gyms. They can be a great space for people to get in the exercise they need and have a wide variety of ways to workout. However, gyms typically operate at such a large scale that the members end up with negative experiences. Overcrowded classes. Wait lines for gym equipment. Gym sweat. The smell of gym sweat (blegh!). Not to mention: the walls are often riddled with images that tend to intimidate many of its newer members. Many even express hesitancy with going to the gym because they'll feel like "everyone's always looking at me", which makes them uncomfortable. 

A personal training studio has been found to be more effective for the client (or member) because we intentionally focus on 1:1 health and fitness training and guidance. We've strategically crafted a training space that's smaller in size to give our clients an intimate, non-intimidating environment that encourages the fitness journey, rather than detract from it. Our personal training studio also means our clients don't have to ever worry about that awkward, "everyone's staring at me" feeling.  Large crowds are never an issue here. Plus, there's never a wait line for our equipment and when you're using our workout gear, you can rest assured it's been thoroughly cleaned + sanitized prior to each client's use. 

 

I HAVE INJURIES - CAN YOU STILL HELP ME?

Absolutely!  Before you ever step foot into the studio to workout, we'll conduct a comprehensive assessment. Our intention is to collect information about any and all previous (or current) existing injuries; how these injuries affect your personal life; any health issues and how they've impacted your ability to live healthier; and once we've compiled all the background information, only then will we get to work constructing a personal fitness training program that can get you to where you need to be, without exaggerating your injuries or health issues.

100%. Any gym or health professional who tells you that you can simply exercise your way to a fully healthy and fit body (life), is lying. We know that the conversation of 'nutrition' can sound intimidating - and let's be real: it sounds boring! But, it doesn't have to be intimidating or boring. In fact: one of the benefits our clients get to enjoy is the nutritional consulting services we give to clients with their memberships. Each month, our trainers are not only continuing to help you better understand how you can make simple switches (or additions) to what you eat and drink; we also ensure you have the tools you need to maximize your results with our proprietary nutrition and meal planning app.
